In short - yes. Our products are organic by default. We hold ourselves to a standard that goes beyond the typical "organic" sticker.
Our farm partners have been practicing chemical-free, regenerative farming for generations. While their methods align with organic protocols, we don't require them to hold formal organic certification. The reality is that the high cost of international certifications often traps small-scale farmers in cycles of debt - a system we refuse to support and is extremely expensive for them. Instead, we verify quality through direct relationships and rigorous independent testing on every batch.
Unlike industrial farming, which relies on chemicals and depletes the earth, regenerative agriculture mimics nature to actively restore it. It's a holistic approach focused on soil health. A few pillars we focus on:
Empowered Farmers: By reducing expensive external inputs like synthetic fertilizers, we lower costs and increase resilience for our farm partners.
Climate Action: The global food system is responsible for one-third of greenhouse gas emissions. Regenerative farming turns this around by pulling carbon out of the atmosphere and storing it back in the ground.
In short, it's a way of farming that leaves the ecosystem better than we found it.
Nutrient Density: Healthy soil produces food that is naturally more flavorful and nourishing.
Organic tells you what isn't in the food; Regenerative tells you what is in the soil. Our focus is on soil health, heirloom seeds, and biodiversity. We believe that food can only be as healthy as the ecosystem it came from.
Check the date on the jar - we suggest enjoying our spices within 2 years.
While supermarket spices are often 5 to 10 years old before they even reach your kitchen, we source annually to ensure peak potency. Your spices won't "go bad" the day they hit the two-year mark, but because we don't use any preservatives or fillers, that 24-month window is when the essential oils, aroma, and nutrients are at their absolute best.
Keep them in a cool, dry place, tucked away from direct sunlight in an airtight container.
We currently ship to U.A.E and H.K. If you live outside these regions and would like to order, please email info@arayafood.org and we will do our best to arrange for you.
